The town is well connected to Ghazipur, Varanasi, Gorakhpur and other local cities such as Mau, Azamgarh, Ballia, Jaunpur etc. Jangipur is an important agricultural town and an important mandi in Ghazipur District.
Jangipur is one of the assembly seat of Vidhan Sabha of state of Uttar Pradesh. It constitutes Jangipur Town, some parts of Ghazipur , Rauza, Rajdepur, Andhau extended up to Suhwal on Zamania Road.
